Answer:

Tap A fills the tank in = 8 hours

   Tap A fills in 1 hour = 1/8 tank                            ...(i)

Tap B fills the tank in = 6 hours

Tap B fills in 1 hour = 1/6 tank                             ...(ii)

Tap C empties the tank in = 4 hours

Tap C empties in 1 hour = 1/4 tank                     ...(iii)

From  (i), (ii) and (iii), we get

∴    (A + B + C )'s fill in 1 hour = (1/8 + 1/6 - 1/4) tank = 3+4-6/24  =  1/24

∴    (A + B +c) fill the tank in = 24 hours.
