Given : A tank contains 18,000 litres of water.

It decreases at the rate of 5% per day,

To Find : what will be the quantity of water left in the tank after 2 days?*

1️⃣ 16245 lit.

2️⃣ 16345 lit.

3️⃣ 16445 lit.

4️⃣ 18245 lit.8

Solution:

tank contains water = 18000 litre

Decreased in 1st day =  (5/100)18000 = 900 litre

Remain after 1 day = 18000 - 900  = 17100 litre

Decreased  on 2nd day = (5/100)17100  = 855 litre

quantity of water left in the tank after 2 days = 17100 - 855

= 16245 litre

16245 litre water left in the tank after 2 days

Decreased on first day,

➜ \: \frac{5}{100} \times 18000

➜ \: 900 \: litres

Quantity of water left in the tank after first day,

➜ \: 18000 - 900

➜ \: 17100 \: litres

Decreased on second day,

➜ \: \frac{5}{100} \times 17100

➜ \: 855 \: litres

Quantity of water left in the tank after second day,

➜ \: 17100 - 855
