Given :-

  • initial water in tank = 82(3/4) Litre .
  • Water used = 24(4/5) Litre.
  • water filled back in tank = 18(3/4) Litre.

To Find :-

  • What is the final volume of water in the tank ?

Solution :-

→ initial water in tank = 82(3/4) Litre .

→ Water used = 24(4/5) Litre.

So, after water used , water left in tank is :-

→ initial water - water used

→ 82(3/4) - 24(4/5)

→ (82 - 24) + (3/4 - 4/5)

→ 58 + (3*5 - 4*4)/20

→ 58 + (15 - 16)/20

→ 58 - (1/20)

→ (58*20 - 1)/20

→ (1159/20)

57(19/20) Litre .

Now, tank was again filled with 18(3/4) litre of water ,

Therefore,

water in tank now = water left in tank + water again filled

→ 57(19/20) + 18(3/4)

→ (57 + 18) + (19/20 + 3/4)

→ 75 + (19 + 5*3)/20

→ 75 + (19 + 15)/20

→ 75 + (34/20)

→ 75 + 1(14/20)

→ (75 + 1) + (14/20)

→ 76 + (7/10)

76(7/10) Litre. (Ans.)

Hence, final volume of water in the tank is 76(7/10) Litre.
