A tank is 3 / 5 full of water .

Let the common multiple be x .

Thus ,

3x of the tank is filled and the capacity of the tank is 5x .

50 litres more are required to fill the tank .

So ...

Capacity of tank = 5x = 5(25) = 125litres

Final Answer :

Let the maximum water hold by the tank be x

Part of tank not filled with water = 1-3/5

= 5-3/5

= 2/5

According to question

2x/5 = 50

x = 50×5/2

x = 125 litres
