a tank is in the shape of a cylinder with radius 14 cm and height 35 cm find out its total surface area if it is open from the top

Solution

base radius=14cm

height=35cm

now the total surface area with one top open..

=curved surface area+base area

=2πrh+πr²

=πr(2h+r)

\begin{lgathered}= \frac{22}{7} \times 14(2 \times 35 + 14) \: \: cm {}^{2} \\ = 44(84) \\ = 3696 \: \: cm {}^{2}\end{lgathered}=722×14(2×35+14)cm2=44(84)=3696cm2
