Dear Karthik,

◆ Answer -

v = 7.67 m/s

◆ Explaination -

# Given -

H = 5 m

h = 3 m

# Solution -

Point to note here that water level below the hole wouldn't affect velocity of efflux.

Velocity of the efflux will be thus calculated as -

v = √(2gh)

v = √(2 × 9.8 × 3)

v = √58.8

v = 7.67 m/s

Therefore, velocity of efflux will be 7.67 m/s.

Thanks dear.
