Correct question :-

A tank 5 m high is half - filled with water and then is filled to the top with oil of density 0.85g/cm³ . The pressure at the bottom of the tank, due to these liquids is:-

Answer :-

462.5g g/cm²

Solution :-

Given that,

Total height of tank = 5m

Density of water ρ¹ =1g/cm³

Density of oil ρ² =0.85g/cm³

We know that,

Half tank filled with water and half tank filled with oil.

So, h¹ = h² =2.5m=250cm

The pressure at the bottom of the tank is

P=h¹ρ¹g+h²ρ²g

P=g(250×1+250×0.85)

P=462.5g g/cm²

Thank You
