Step-by-step explanation:

Given;

dimensions of the tank =12m×8m×6m

where;

length=12m

breadth=8m

height=6m

breadth of the iron sheet=4m

now,

area of sheet required= LSA of the tank + area of the base

= 2( L + B )×h + L×B

= 240 + 96

= 336

area of the iron sheet= l × b =336

=> l × 4m=336

=> l = 336÷4

l = 84

therefore;

the cost of the iron sheet at RS 17.50 per metre = 17.50 × 84= RS .1470
