A taxi charges in a city consists of a fixed charge together with the charge for the distance covered
for a distance of 6km, the charge paid is Rs 58 while for a journey of 10 km, the charge paid was Rs90. find fixed charge and charge per km???

Let the fixed charge be 'Rs.x' and the charger per km be ''Rs..y'


By Qn ,

x+6y=58--------(1)

Again By Qn,
x+10y=90---------(2)

(2)-(1)= 4y=32
y=8

(2) implies x=10


Thus the fixed charge=Rs.10
and charge per km=Rs.8

x+6y = 58 -1⃣

x+10y = 90 -2⃣

now solve these using any of the three methods they are substitution,elimination or cross multiplication
