We can do it by logical thinking and unitary method

Cost for 1 quarter mile = rs 1.75

cost of Additional quarter mile = rs 0.15

Total money in hand = rs. 4.90

money left after 1 St quarter = 4.90-1.75

money left =rs 3.15

Subsequent quarter mile = cost 0.15

so total subsequent quarters mile = 3.15/0.15

thus total subsequent quarter mile =21

Now, Total quarter mile = 21+1

that is = 22 quarter mile

which is = 5 mile and 2 quarters...
