Answer:

av.speed =total distance /total time taken

total distance =1088-1052=36km/h

total time 30 min=1/2 hr

av.speed=36÷1/2

=36×2

=72km/hr ans.

The average speed of the taxi is 72 km/hr.

Given,

The initial reading of the odometer = 1052 Km

Final reading = 1088 km

Time taken = 30 mins.

To Find,

The average speed of the taxi.

Solution,

The formula for calculating the average speed is

Average speed = total distance travelled / total time taken

Total distance traveled =  Final reading - initial reading = 1088-1052=36km

Total time taken = 30 min = 1/2 hr

Now,

Average speed = 36/(1/2)

Average speed = 36*2 = 72 km/hr

Hence, the average speed of the taxi si 72 km/hr.
