a taxi fare in a city for first kilometer is rs 18 and for subsequent distance it is rs 10 per kilometre taking the distance covered as x kilometer .fare as y,write a linear equation for this information. if a person covers distance of 25 kilometre .find the taxi fare.

equation is equal to

18+10*(x-1)=y

18+10x-10=y

10x+8=y

now X=25

10*25+8=y (taxi fare)

250+8=y

y=rs 258
