Question :

A merchant blends two varieties of tea from two different tea gardens, one costing Rs.45 per kg and other Rs.60 per kg in the ratio of 7 : 3 respectively. He sells the blended variety at Rs.54.45 per kg. His profit percent is

Solution :

7 × 45 = 315

3 × 60 = 180

C.P of 10 kg = ₹495

Therefore, C.P of 1 kg = ₹49.5

Profit = 54.54 - 49.5

= ₹4.95

Therefore, % profit = 4.95/49.5 × 100%

= 10%
