Given,

A tea packet measures 10cm x6cm x4cm.

To Find,

How many such packets  can be placed in a cardboard box of dimensions 12cm x10cm x12cm.

Solution,

Length of tea packet = 10 cm

Breadth of tea packet = 6 cm

Height of tea packet = 4 cm

Therefore volume of one tea packet = lbh

= 10 x 6 x 4

= 240cm³

Length of carboard box = 12 cm

Breadth of carboard box = 10 cm

Height of carboard box = 12 cm

Volume of the carboard box = lbh

= 12 x 10 x 12

= 1440cm³

No. of packets that can be stored = \dfrac{Volume\:of\:box}{Volume\:of\:packet}

= \dfrac{1440}{240}

= 6

Therefore 6 packets can be stored in the box.

Formulas used:

→ Volume of cuboid

Surface areas and volume of cuboid:

→ LSA = 2 (lh + bh)

→ TSA = 2 (lh + bh + lb)

→ Volume = lbh
