Given :- A teacher divided the class into two groups of equal size. 2/5 of the first group are right-handed. 60% of the second group are right-handed.

To Find :- What fraction of the class is right-handed ?

Answer :-

Let total students in class is 2x .

so, two equal parts are x and x

now,

→ Right handed in first group = (2/5) of x = (2x/5)

and,

→ right handed in second group = 60% of x = (60*x/100) = (3x/5) .

so,

→ Total right handed in both group = (2x/5) + (3x/5) = (5x/5) = x students .

therefore,

→ Fraction of class right handed is = x/2x = (1/2) (Ans.)
