A teacher has a bag of sweets to be distributed among her students.
If each student gets 10 sweets, there is no sweets left.
If each student gets 16 sweets, the teacher needs another 48 sweets.
How many students are there?
How many sweets does the teacher have?

Let x be the number of students. Then  

Number of sweets=10(x)+8

or

Number of sweets=11(x)−16

⟹10x+8=11x−16⟹x=24

∴There are 24 students

Number of sweets=10(x)+8=10(24)+8=248
