Answer:

nunber of students=25 and number of chocolate=155

Step-by-step explanation:

let number of chocolates=y and

number of students =x

case-1

it is said when teacher gives 6 sweets to each student she is left with 5 sweets

therefore making an linear equation

y-6x=5 ----------(equation 1)

case-2

it is said that when teacher gives 7 sweets to each student she would have 30 sweets short

therefore making an linear equation

y-7x=-30--------(equation 2)

from equation 1 we get y=6x+5

putting it in equation 2

6x+5-7x=-30

solving the above equation we get x=25

i.e there are 25 students

putting value of x in equation (1or2)

we get y=155 which is number of chocolates
