A teacher provided Acetic Acid, water, lemon juice, aqueous solution of sodium hydrogen carbonate and sodium hydroxide to the students in school laboratory to determine the pH values of the substance using pH paper of one of the student reported the pH value of the given substances as 3 ,12 ,4 ,8 and 14 respectively which one of these value is not correct write its correct value stating the reason

Acetic Acid=2.4

water=7

lemon juice=2

aqueous solution of sodium hydrogen carbonate=8.27

The pH value of water is not correct. It should be 7 because water is neutral it is neither acidic nor basic.For acidic substance the pH value is less than seven,for basic substance the pH value is between 7 to 14 & for neutral substance pH value is 7. The pH scale ranges from 0-14.
