Total no. of students = 1251

Students left after arrangement = 26
Total students in the arrangement = 1251 - 26
= 1225

Now, no. of rows =
 \sqrt{1225 }  \\ 35
Hence there are 35 rows

Answer:

The number of rows  = 35

Step-by-step explanation:

Given,

Number of students to be arranged  = 1251

Number of students in each row =  Number of rows

Number of students left out after arranging in rows  = 26

To find,

The number of rows

Solution:

Let the number of rows = x

Since the number of students in each row  = number of rows

we have the number of students in each row = x

The total number of students arranged in rows = Number of students in each row × number rows x ×x  = x²

Since 26 students were left out after arranging 1251 students we have

1251 = x² + 26

x²  = 1251 - 26

=1225

x = \sqrt{1225} = 35

∴The number of rows  = 35
