Answer:

Number of verbal questions = 30

Time taken for verbal question = 25 seconds

Number of maths questions = 40

Time taken to complete math question = 100 seconds

∴The total time she should allow for the test :

(30×25) + (40×100)

⇒750 + 4000

⇒4750 seconds

⇒ 79 minutes 10 seconds

1 hour 19 minutes and 10 seconds

Answer:

Given Question:-

→ A teacher wants to make a test containing 30 verbal and 40 math questions. Each verbal question is to be allotted 25 seconds to complete and each math question is to be given 1 min 40 seconds. how many minutes should she allow for the whole test?

Solution:-

⇒ Time allotted for one verbal question = 25 seconds

⇒ ∴ Time for 30 verbal questions = 30 × 25 seconds

                                                        =  750seconds

⇒ Time allotted for one math question=1 min 40 seconds

                                                                = 1 × 60 + 40

                                                                =  60 + 40

                                                                =  100seconds

⇒ ∴ Time for 40  maths question = 40 × 100 = 4000

⇒ Total time for whole test =  100 + 750  = 850  sec

⇒ ∵ 60 sec = 1 min

⇒ ∴ 850 sec  = 850 ÷ 60 =  14.1666666...min
