let duration of call =x
amount charged =y
charge for 1st min=Rs 1.1
per minute charge=Rs 1
y=1.1+1(x-1)
y=1.1+x-1
y=x+0.1

Given:

Telecom operator charges for first minute = Rs 1.1

Telecom operator charges for subsequent minutes = Rs 1

To Find:

Linear equation for this relationship.

Solution:

The duration of the call be = x

The total amount charged be = y

Now, as per question forming the equation -

y = 1.1 + 1 (x-1)

y = 1.1 + x - 1

y = x + 0.1

Answer: Linear equation for this relationship is y = x + 0.1
