A television set having apower rating of 120w and electric lawnmower of power rating 1kw are both connected to a 250v supply if 3A 5Aand 10A fuses are available state which is the which is most appropriate for each appliance

• Television's power rating = 120 w
• Electric lawn mower's rating = 1 kw = 1000 w
• Both are connected to same supply = 250 v

Now, first of all, what must be the ideal fuse;

• At a appropriate or more amount of current when flows through it, it melts.

So now, fuse rating can be found as;

• Power consumed/Voltage

Fuse rating for television:

• 120/250
• 12/25 = 0.48 A

Most probably the ideal fuse for television must be 1 A or below than this, but since we don't have any fuse if this rating 3 A fuse can be used.

Fuse rating for electric lawn mower:

• 1000/250
• 4 A

Since, on 4 A the elelectric lawn mower would work so, 5 A fuse most be the appropriate one.
