Given:-

  • Initial Velocity = 30m/s

  • Final Velocity = 0m/s ( As it reaches maximum height)

  • Time taken = 3s

  • Acceleration due to gravity = -10m/s²

To Find:-

  • Maximum Height reached by the ball

  • Time taken by ball to return to the ground.

Formulae used:-

  • v² - u² = 2gh

Where,

  • v = Final Velocity
  • u = Initial Velocity
  • g = Acceleration due to gravity
  • s = Height

Now,

→ v² - u² = 2as

→ (0)² - (30)² = 2 × -10 × s

→ -900 = -20s

→ 900 = 20s

→ s = 900/20

→ s = 45m

Hence, The maximum Height reached by ball is 45m

We also know that,

→ Time of ascent = Time of descent

So,

→ Time of ascent = 3s

→ Time of descent = 3s

Therefore

→ Time taken to return to ground = 3 + 3 = 6s

Hence, The time taken to return to ground is 6s.
