A tennis ball moves 18 meters northward, then 22 meters southward, then 14 meters
northward, and finally 28 meters southward. For this motion, what is the distance moved?

CASE 1: let the ball at a point at centre from where it moved towards North 18m and comes back means distance moved 36m then moved towards south 22m and comes back means total distance moved is 36+22+22=80m

CASE 2: Then 14m towards North and comes back to centre means 28m and finally moved towards south 28m and comes back means 56m means total distance is 28+56=84m

Now total distance moved is 80+84=164m

Displacement and magnitude will be 0 as the ball start to move from centre and finally comes back to it.
