Solution:
Since, to find the area of canvas required for the tent we will require to find the lateral surface areas of both cone and cylinder.
The Lateral Surface Area of Cylinder = 2πrh
= 2 x π x 4.5 x 4.8 = 135.72 sq. m.
Height of Cone = 10.8 - 4.8 = 6m
The Lateral Surface Area of Cone = πrh
= π x 4.5 x 6 = 84.82 sq. m.
Therefore, Area of Canvas required = 135.72 + 84.82 = 220.54 sq. m.
