A tent is in the form of cylinder of diameter 20m and height 3.5m surmounted by a cone of equal base and height 7.5m. find the cost of the canvas at ₹105 per m2

Curved surface area of cylinder -

A1 = 2πrh

A1 = 2 × 22/7 × 10 × 3.5

A1 = 220 m^2

Curved surface area of cone -

A2 = πr √(r²+h²)

A2 = 22/7 × 10 × √(10² + 7.5²)

A2 = 393 m^2

Total canvas required is -

A = A1 + A2

A = 220 + 393

A = 613 m^2

Total cost of canvas will be -

Cost = 613 × 105

Cost = 64365 ₹

Hence, total cost of canvas is 64365 ₹.
