A Tesla Roadster car accelerates from rest at a rate of 7.1m/s2 for a time of 3.9s. Calculate the distance it travels inn this time.

Acceleration of car,a= 7.1 m/s²

Time taken by car,t= 3.9 s

To Find:

Distance travelled by car in given time

Solution:

We know that,

  • According to second equation of motion for constant acceleration,

a is acceleration

So, on applying second equation of motion on car, we get

\longrightarrow\rm{s=\dfrac{1}{2}(7.1)(15.21)}

\longrightarrow\rm{s=\dfrac{107.991}{2}}

\longrightarrow\rm\green{s=53.9955\ m}

Hence, the distance covered by Tesla Roadster car in 3.9 s is 53.9955 m.

a=7.1 m/s

t=3.9 s

By using the 3rd equation of motion,

S=ut +1/2 at^2

=0×3.9+1/2×7.1×3.9^2

=0+1/2×7.1×15.21

=1/2×107.991

=53.9955 m
