Answer: 52

difference between 28 and 15 is 13 percentage

13%=39 marks(32+7)

1%=39/13 = 3 marks

15% = 15 x 3 = 45 marks ( failed by 7 marks)

passing marks = 52 marks(45 + 7)

Given,

A got 15% of the marks

And failed by 7 marks

B got 28% of the marks

And got 32 marks more than the passing marks

To find,

The passing marks

Solution,

Let, the passing marks be x

And the total marks be y

Now, the equation 1 formed for A is:

x = 15% of y + 7

Or, x = 15y + 7

And, the equation 2 formed for B is:

x = 28% of y -32

Or, x = 28y-32

Now putting the value of x from equation 1 in equation 2

We will get, 15y + 7 = 28y - 32

28y - 15y = 7 + 32

13y = 39

y = 39/13

y = 3

Now,

Putting the value of y in equation 1:

We will get, x = 15 × 3 + 7

x = 45 + 7

x = 52

Hence, the passing mark is 52.
