A test tube containing a brown liquid in it. When methane is bubbled through this colour remains the same when ethene is passed through it the brown colour disappear
a) name the liquid
b) write the reaction between ethene and the brown liquid

B) C2H4 +Br2--->C2H4Br2

Explanation:The reaction which takes place with ethene and bromine is an addition reaction.Only the unsatutated hydrocarbons can undergo this reaction and methane being a Saturated Hydrocarbon doesnt react.
