so cp of maths book is x+2

therefore if 5 literature books costs 38 rs more than 3 mathematics books

then equation is going to be
5x=3(x+2)+38
5x=3x+6+38
2x=44
x=22

let the cost of each literature book be x
so cost of each mathematics book be x+2
5x is 38 + 3(x+2)
5x is 38 +3x +6
5x-3x is 44
2x is 44 x is44/2
x is 22
therefore the cost of each literature book is 22rs
