Answer:

1)higher

As the metal atoms increase in size, any bonding electron pair becomes farther from the metal nucleus, and so is less strongly attracted towards it. This corresponds with a decrease in electronegativity down Group 1.

2)lower

The ionization energy is affected by the effective nuclear charge (net positive charge experienced by the electrons), shielding electrons, atomic radii (size of the atoms) and the properties of the element. It increases from left to right but decreases from top to bottom.

Answer:

(a) lower, because, down the group electronegativity decreases and lower ionisation potential because, down the group ionisation potential decreases due to decrease in the nuclear charge.

Hope this will be helpful

Good Luck!
