3) The chemical test for hydrogen is that it burns with a pop sound. Therefore before collecting the gas it should be tested with a burning splint, if the burning produces a pop sound, then you would know that what you are collecting is actually hydrogen gas.

2) Hydrogen chloride gas is collected by the downward delivery (upward displacement of air) as it is 1.28 times heavier than air. It is not collected over water, since it is highly soluble in water.

4) NH4+ is known as an ammonium ion, but NH4 would not make sense as it is not balanced. The lewis structure would be the Nitrogen atom in the center, with 4 hydrogens surrounding it. There would be no lone pairs, the molecule would also be nonpolar.
