Step-by-step explanation:

Given that:

Time period:1870-1969

To find:

No. of odd days in the given period

Solution: As ordinary year has 1 odd day,and leap year has 2 odd days.

First off all find Number of leap year and ordinary year in the given interval.

1870 is ordinary year

1871 is ordinary year

1872 is leap year

1968 is leap year

Thus from ,1872-1968 ,there are 97 years, out of which 25 are leap years(1872 and 1968 both inclusive),it also consider 1900 (century year ) also an leap year.

Before go further, Check for century year also,a century year is leap year only if completely divided by 400.

So,1900 can not be completely divided by 400,So,it is ordinary year.

So, Total leap years = 24 Years

Rest all = 97-24+3=76 are ordinary year.

Odd days in 24 leap years= 24×2= 48

Odd days in 76 ordinary years = 76×1= 76

Total odd days in the interval = 48+76= 124 days.

Now,these 124 days can be converted to week =124/7=17 week 5 odd days

So,In the given interval 1870-1969,there are 5 odd days.

Hope it helps you.
