(a) The side of a square is 5cm and the side of an equilateral triangle is 8cm.
Find the ratio of their perimeters.​

Solution :-

The side of the square is 5 cm

Therefore,

As we know that,

Perimeter of square = 4 * side

Perimeter of square = 4 * 5

Perimeter of square = 20 cm

Now,

The side of an equilateral triangle is 8cm

As we know that,

All sides of equilateral triangle are equal

Therefore,

Perimeter of equilateral triangle

= S + S + S

Perimeter of equilateral triangle

= 8 + 8 + 8 = 24cm

Now,

We have to find the ratio of the perimeter of square and perimeter of equilateral triangle

That is,

Perimeter of square / Perimeter of triangle

= 20/24 = 5/6

Hence, The ratio of their perimeters are 5 : 6 .
