a) The sides of a right -angled triangle are (x-1)cm, 3xcm, (3x+1)cm. find i)The value of x, ii) the length of its sides, iii) its area.

Answer:

x - 1 + 3x + 3x + 1 = 7x

x = -7

° the value of x is -7

the length of each sides are, (-7-1 ) = -8cm

(3×-7) = -21 & 3(-7) + 1 = -20

it's area is 1/2 × b × h

1/2 × -21 × -20 = 210 cm ²
