To find:

• The numbers = ?

Solution:

Let the numbers be,

→ x

→ x + 1

→ x + 2

Now, their sum is 3 less than 24.

⇒ x + (x + 1) + (x + 2) = 24 - 3

⇒ 3x + 3 = 21

⇒ 3x = 21 - 3

⇒ x = 18/3

⇒ x = 6

So, the alternate numbers are :-

➪ x = 6

➪ (x + 1) = 6 + 1 = 7

➪ (x + 2) = 6 + 2 = 8

Hence, the numbers are 6, 7 and 8.
