Answer :-

a) Let the numbers be x , x + 1 and x + 2.

Sum of the number = 36

→ x + x + 1 + x + 2 = 36

→ 3x + 3 = 36

→ 3x = 36 - 3

→ 3x = 33

→ x = 33 / 3

→ x = 11

Numbers = 11 , 12 and 12

b)

  • P = Rs. 8000
  • T = 2 years
  • R = 5% p.a.

Simple interest = P × R × T / 100

Substituting the values :-

→ SI = 8000 × 2 × 5 / 100

→ SI = 80 × 2 × 5

→ SI = 800

Simple interest = Rs. 800

a) The sum of three consecutive integers is 36. What is the number?

Given

Sum of three consecutive integers is 36

Find

The numbers

Solution

Let the first number be x

Second number be x+1

Third number be x+2

The sum of this integers is 36

∴x+(x+1)(x+2)=36

∴x+x+1+x+2=36

∴3x+3=36

∴3x=36-3

∴3x=33

∴x=33/3

∴x=11

Hence the three numbers are 11,12 and 13..

b) Find the simple interest on Rs.8000 for 2 years at 5% per annum. Find the amount.

Given

P=8000₹

R=5%

T/n=2 years

Find

Simple interest

Solution

By using formula SI=PRT/100

∴SI=8000×5×2/100

∴SI=80,000/100

∴SI=800

Hence Simple interest is 800
