In context to questions asked

We have to determine the value of two integer

As per questions

We have

Sum of two consecutive integers is 39.

So let the integer be x and x +1

So from above

we can say that

x + x + 1 = 39 \\ = > 2x = 39 - 1 \\ 2x = 38 \\ = > x = \frac{38}{2} \\ = > x = 19

Hence value of the integers will be 19 and 20

To find : two consecutive integers

Given : sum of two consecutive integers is 39 .

Solution :

  • As per given data we know that sum of two consecutive integers is 39 .
  • We know that , two consecutive numbers differ by 1 .
  • Therefore , let x and x + 1 be two consecutive numbers .
  • According to condition we have , x + (x +1) = 39
  • Using transposition method we find value of x .
  • x + (x +1) = 39

       2x + 1 = 39 \\2x = 39 -1 \\2x = 38 \\x = 19

  • Substituting the value of x to find numbers .

         x = 19 \\x  +1 = 19 + 1 = 20

Hence ,  two consecutive integers are 19 and 20 .
