Relative speed of the thief and policeman = (11 – 10) km/hr = 1 km/hr

Distance covered in 6 minutes =
160∗6=110=100meters

So distance between them after 6 minutes = 200 - 100
= 100 meters..i think it should be the correct answer

mayureshjadhav4: whats is 160? and do you multiplied to 6?

hi there
net speed =distance÷time
convert bot speeds in m/s
(55/18)-50÷18=s/360. (minutes into sec)
5/18 = s/360
5=18s/360
5=s/20
s=100meter
so the distance between them will be 200-100
100meter

namandadhich: please mark it as branlist ans
mayureshjadhav4: hii... please explain me in more simple way...if possible
namandadhich: see the speeds of thief and coop is given in km/hr but we have to find distance in meter so firstly we have to convert the speed and time in m/s and sec. resprectively
mayureshjadhav4: so how do you convert it?
namandadhich: now both are moving in the same direction thief is moving with speed of 10 while coop is moving with 11 so this impliese that the coop is moving with speed 1 more then thief so the net speed will be 1 now we know the formula of speed so we can find the distance
namandadhich: just multiply them by 5÷18
