A thief steals a bike at 12.30pm and drives it at 60kmph. The owner discovers this at 1pm and sets off in another bike at 75kmph. At what time will he overtake the thigh?​

As per statement both owner and thief have to reach same destination to catch hold the thief and recover car.

Also thief had already taken 1 / 2 h more than owner.

Let owner takes T time to reach destination to catch thief. Then thief will take T +.0.5 time to reach same destination.

Speed of owner = 50 Km / h

Speed of thief = 45 Km / h

50T = 45 (T + 0.5)

50T = 45T + 22.5

50T - 45T = 22.5

5T = 22.5

T = 22.5 / 5

T = 4.5

Therefore, owner has taken 4.5 hours to catch thief.

Means he had started at 2 pm and cached thief at 6.30 pm.
