Hey mate !!
According to your's question is mine answer is =>
D= (n-1)A
D=1.6 and A= 3
then
1.6=(n-1)3
0.533= n-1
n= 1.533 answer

hope it's help you !!

Answer: The correct answer is 1.53.

Explanation:

The expression for the angle of deviation of prism is as follows;

\delta =A(\mu -1)

Here, \delta is the angle of deviation, A is the prism angle and \mu is the refractive index.

It is given in the problem that A thin prism of 3 degree gives a deviation of 1.6 degree.

Put  \delta= 1.6 degree and A= 3 degree.

1.6 =3(\mu -1)

0.53 =(\mu -1)

\mu =1.53

Therefore, the refractive index of prism is 1.53.
