A thin wire ring of radius lm is situated on the surface of a liquid. If the excess force required to lift it upwards
(before the liquid film breaks) from the liquid surface is 8 N. calculate the surface tension of liquid ?

Explanation:

We know that surface tension (T) = F / L  (F = Force , L = Length)

Length of thin wire ring = 2 × π × r

                                    = 6.34 m

T = F / L

 = 8/6.34

 = 1.26 N/m
