A three and a half metres long rod is to be cut into two pieces ,one piece is to be bent into a square and the other into an equilateral triangle.the length of a side of both must be same.How should it be cut?.

it means you have 7 sides of equal length...in which 4 sides are of square n remaining three of triangle. you have total 3.5 meter road. divide it by 7 gives 0.5 meter which is the length of one side. it means u need 4×0.5= 2meter for square n remaining 1.5 meter for that equilateral triangle.
