A three digit number has its tens digit as twice its hundred digit which in turn is one third its units digit. The sum of its extreme digits is 8. Find its middle digit ?

x=4z

4z+y+z=14

5z+y=14

so the number is 100x+10y+z

                           400z+10y+z

                            401z+10y

now reversed  is 100z+10y+4z

                           104z+10y

they differ by 594

401z+10y-104z-10y=594

297z=594

z=2

so 5z+y=14

    y=14-10

    y=4

x=4*2=8

so the number is 842
