Given  : A three-phase star connected load consumes 600 W from a three-phase balanced supply.

load is now re-connected in delta and fed from the same supply,

To Find :  the power consumption

600 W

200 W

1.8 kW

None of the above

Solution:

Power consumed by three identical phase loads connected in delta is equal to three times power consumed when phase loads are connected in star.

three-phase star connected load consumes 600 W from a three-phase balanced supply.

Hence three-phase Delta connected load  consumes 3 x 600 W  = 1800 W from a three-phase balanced supply.

1800 W  = 1.8 kW

Correct answer would be 1.8 kW
