Answer:

⑅ The pressure exerted on the head of the nail = 10^{8} Pascal

Given :-

✧ Force = 50 N

✧ Area of the head of the nail = 0.005 x 10⁻⁴ m²

To find :-

◍ The pressure exerted on the head of the nail.

Solution :-

In the question, the force applied and area of head of the nail is given and we have to calculate pressure exerted.

\tt{Area = 0.005\times 10^{-4} m^2 = \dfrac{0.005\times 1000}{10^{-4}\times 1000m^2}}\\\\\tt{Area = 5 \times 10^{-7} m^2}}

Pressure is equal to the ratio of Force by Area.

\tt{\mapsto Pressure =\dfrac{Force}{Area} }

Substituting the values in the formula,

=>\tt{Pressure =\dfrac{50 \:N}{5\times 10^{-7}m^2} }\\\\=>\tt{Pressure =\dfrac{50\times 10^{7}}{5 m^2}}\\\\=>\tt{Pressure =10\times 10^{7}}\\\\=>\tt{Pressure =10^{8}\:Pascal}

More Information :-

• Force = Mass x Acceleration = kg m/s² (Unit)

• Area = Force / Pressure = N/P (Unit)

• Force = Pressure x Area = P/m² (Unit)

• Unit of Force is N or Newton.

• Unit of Area is m².

• Unit of Pressure is P or Pascal.
