Answer: A hungry tiger once got caught in a cage set up by a hunter. The tiger used all its strength but was unable to break out of the cage. Just as it was about to lose all hope it saw a traveler passing by. When the traveler came closer, the tiger begged the traveler to save him and promised not to harm him. The kind-hearted traveler took pity on it and set it free. But the moment it was free, the tiger pounced on the traveler and expressed its intent to devour him.    The traveler regretted having set the tiger free. But he was unwilling to die and shouted for help. A jackal who was passing by heard his cries for help and intervened just as the tiger was about to deliver a lethal bite. On hearing the whole story, the jackal tells the tiger that it was not possible to get caught in that cage and asks how it had gotten caught in the cage in the first place. The tiger went back into the cage and told the jackal that this was how it had got caught. The jackal quickly shot the traveler a meaningful glance and the man jumped up and latched the cage. It was then that the tiger realized that it had been tricked and once more it pleaded with the traveler to free it. But the man paid it no heed and thanked the jackal for saving him. The man then continued on his journey. Before leaving, the jackal glanced at the frustrated tiger, gave a cold laugh, and said "This is what would happen to an ungrateful creature like you which tries to bite the same hand which feeds you".
