A tile is a square of side 20 cm. How many such tiles would be required to cover the floor of a square bathroom of side 3 m ?

TILE :

Side = 20 cm

area = s * s

= 20 * 20 = 400 sq. cm

BATHROOM :

Side = 3m = 300 cm

area = s * s

= 300 * 300 = 90000 sq. cm

NO. OF TILES :

90000 / 400

= 225

therefore 225 tiles are required
