Explanation:

{\huge{\rm{\underline{\underline{Given}}}}}

Side of tile = 50cm

We know,

1m = 100cm

100 cm = 1 m

1 cm = \displaystyle\frac{1}{100}

50 cm = \displaystyle\frac{50}{100}

50 cm = \displaystyle\frac{1}{2}

50 cm = 0.5 m

Solution:

Area of tile = (side)^2

= 0.5 x 0.5

Area of tile = 0.25 m^2

It is given that tile can carry a pressure of 200N/m^2. If the force applied by this pressure is F,

F = Pressure x Area to tile

F = 200 x 0.25

F = 2 x 25

F = 50 N

Hence, It can withstand any force less than 50 N
