A tin maker converts a cubical metallic box into 10 cylindrical tins. Side of the cube
is 50 cm and radius of the cylinder is 7 cm. Find the height of each cylinder so made

where a is considered as side of cube

we need to equate volume of cube and volume of 10 cylinders but there is wastage .

so

Volume of cube × 0.12 = 10 ( volume of each cylinder)

50³ × 0.12 = 10( πr²h)

12500 × 0.12 = (π×7²×h)

12500 × 0.12 = ( 22×7×h)

81.168 × 0.12 = h

so h= 9.74 cm
